Does phone company unlock phones for you?

I have T-mobile as my carrier and i want a LG phone which is for AT&T and Verizon. I cant use it unless i unlock it. Can the phone store unlock it for you if you buy it from them?

1. to unlock a for phone u have have the unlock code from the cell provider

Yea they can give you an unlock key if your SIM is locked up, but if you want them yo completely unlock your phone so that you can use any service provider, no they will not do that because it doesn't make sense for them to unlock their own phones and then lose money because someone is not using their service. but you could get the phone then possible find software on the internet that will unlock it, similar to jailbreak for the iPhone. -Hope this helps! ;)
